I find meal-prepping is a great way to plan out healthy food options. its a great way to ensure good nutrition throughout your busy day rather than making sometimes unhealthy decisions when you’re hungry and looking for anything to satiate your appetite.
I am 100% with you, Nurse Jen, RN! I do much better when I have some of my own meals and snacks at work than when I rely on the nearest lunch takeout options. Plus I always eat more when I am getting takeout than when I bring my own pre-portioned! I appreciate another RN's thoughts here!
Eating healthy foods like vegetables and fruit, stopping smoking, working out 3-5 days a week for 30 minutes, getting 7-8 hours sleep each night to prevent you from getting sick, taking vitamins like a multivitamin and go get a physical from your doctor each year.
I especially like your suggestion to get a physical each year. My union agrees and for members that do not get physical, their medical appointment copays are now higher than for members who get their physicals every year!
Thank you Nurse Renee for the very thorough answer! The multi vitamin I take is called Multi One by Bluebonnet. www.nhc.com/bluebonnet It is in a vegetable capsule and I take them daily with a meal. I’m addition I have tried Balance of Nature fruits and veggies. Each capsule has 15 fruits and vegetables. www.balanceofnature.com Lastly I take b12 gummies by vitafusion and I have found they really help with energy. Jacquie I agree a physical is a must especially in these times! Anyone else have supplements they have found worked for them?
Those are great brands of vitamins. Also, gummy vitamins are very popular now and make it a tasty, fun way to get your vitamins. Jacquie and I were talking and she also consumes gummy vitamins ;)
